Porter

Noticed that my beer closet was full of empty bottles. Had a couple of options here...recycle, redeem for $.05 each, or start mass producing beer.

Brewed a Porter tonight. This is a repeat of one of my recent beers...probably my best beer to date.

Original gravity was 1.055.

What is the best, then?

although it's not my favorite beer, somehow this porter turned out to the best of all i've brewed. finally mastered secondary fermentation, so the beer was a bit smoother than the rest...had less of that homebrew sediment in the bottom of each bottle.

interesting...

I often used to like sediment in beer... especially weiss beers...

Moved to secondary...Gravity=1.02

I'm not sure I understand your last comment.

more of a note for myself...transfered from primary to secondary fermentation. noted the gravity reading.

and what is the significance of that?

Send your address again. I have a book ("The Brewmaster's Bible") that I want to send to you, since I'm no longer brewing...

gives me an idea of how fermentation is going...can derive alcohol percentage based upon gravity reading.

just started secondary fermentation...ready to bottle next weekend.
